In the mood for love…

I have a number of close friends who have immersed themselves in the relationship work that I teach. Two of them are men in relationships that began less than a year ago and I’ve never seen them so optimistic. One of these friends and I speak almost everyday. What I hear day in and day out is how he’s finding a way to live from his heart with his girlfriend.

Today he called and said that he cuddled with his girlfriend for an hour and a half last night even though he was dead tired. He said he wasn’t in the mood to hold her when she reached out but he did anyway. An hour and a half later, they were both nourished by the flow of love and being tired was a distant memory

He said to me, “Giving love has nothing to do with whether you are in the mood or not.”
